#1 Starting point

READ ALOUD: Welcome to KrsKrt! Doing presentations (monologue) isn’t really our thing, but conversations are, so we made our website into a conversation!

So if you want to know what a KrsKrt is, you don’t have to believe our beautiful stories, just use it, click around, feel how it works and imagine what beautiful things you can do with it.

And it is interactive. So fill in this page, together or alone, and send it to you and/or your peers. Or just start scrolling to get to know the methodology and structure.

Anyway, this KrsKrt will give some structure to guide your conversation. Just like it did for >250.000 folks before you.

Who takes on the role of Timekeeper? You keep track of the total playing time (2 hours) and the time taken for each step.

Who takes on the role of Questioner? You keep asking questions where others stop, such as in step 8.

Introduce yourselves to each other, if necessary

#2 Connecting

Introduce yourselves to each other, if necessary

We all do a lot of meetings. A LOT! But if we’re honest, we’re not really good at it, especially when topics are ‘tough’… That’s why, sometimes, we could use a helping hand.

KrsKrt is a handy (and handsome!) tool that facilitates your conversation, without all the fuss of manuals or facilitators. This is what makes it so simple, supple and scalable. The basics are:

1

#Thing
per KrsKrt

3-9

Players
per table

120

Minutes
playtime

3×3

Blocks with
questions

So what’s KrsKrt’s thing? To make all kinds of #things ‘talkable’, to make conversations ‘flow’ and make it feel like a breeze: “Now, that wasn’t hard at all! It was fun!”

And who are you? What is your @thing and what is the one #thing you think should be made ‘talkable’?

This KrsKrt also uses this very same structure!

3. Appreciating

This KrsKrt uses this structure as well!

Every KrsKrt is made within a proven framework, a structure of three distinct stages of conversation, each consisting of three ‘#things’.

Stage A: EXPLORING

Stage B: DEEPENING

Stage C: TRANSLATING

In your experience, which of the above steps make all the difference between a ‘regular meeting’ and a great conversation? Check the boxes above and share your experiences with talking about the #things and topics that truly matter.

4. Imagining

There are three different types of ‘media’ developed to use the #ABC structure. Click to enlarge.

All-in-one: Map-size live meeting

Two-in-one: Loose-leaf to print/project

100% digital: Direct play & capture data

What possibilities do you see emerging around which #Things?

And now you know conversations can scale indefinitely, how does that knowledge change the game?

#5 Turning point & Thing

You’re halfway there!
Read through the questions below and take a break if you have time.

Look back: What is your experience with the first half of your conversation?

Look forward: What will you agree upon to make sure you finish the second half?

Now let’s get to the heart of the matter.

What is the true ‘thing’ of this conversation? What is it really all about?

#6 Proposing

Check out all KrsKrt’s!

What #things/topics do you spot that could be applied in your living, learning or working community to spark a conversation? Add as many #things as you like.

There are already many ready-made KrsKrt’s, available off-the-shelf.

#7 Shaping

Every KrsKrt is a product of Cocreation, a much-used word, but what does it really mean?

Cocreation (or ‘Thinging’)
means creating some ‘#thing’
with the @folks it’s actually about,
about the #things it’s actually about.

It might sound logical, but this isn’t common practice, at all! What would change if you and others would adopt this definition?

To cocreate a taylor-made KrsKrt takes three stages of cocreation:

Stage A: DEVELOPING

Developing the toolkit together

Stage B: MEETING

Sparking & scaling the conversation

Stage C: DISCOVERING

Making sense of the outcomes

Questioner: help make it tangible

#8 Applying

Questioner: help make it tangible

The best way to get to know KrsKrt is to use one of the KrsKrt’s of the Thing System. There are four in total, reflecting the seasonal transitions. The idea is that you, as a community, apply these four conversations, year in year out, to keep building and improving.

@Things

What is your thing, what is my thing, as a member of my living, learning or working community?

#Things

What #things are going on in our living, learning or working community, what are our priorities?

@Thing

What is our thing, what do we really stand for as a living, learning or working community?

#Thing

What is the #thing, really? What are we going to do about it and how are we going to do it?

What would happen if you, in your living, learning or working community, would adopt such a system of conversations? And which one could be a great testcase?

When will you see each other again?

#9 End point

When will you see each other again?

You’ve reached the final step.

Look back: Which word or image best sums up this conversation for you? And what message would you like to leave your conversation partners with?

Look ahead: What do you agree upon to ensure a proper follow-up of this conversation? And who are you going to tell about the outcomes?
